    First subdirectory: I installed the salient.zip into WP via the dashboard. I next installed the salient-child-theme.zip and tried to activate the child. The database became corrupted. 

    Second subdirectory: I installed the salient.zip into WP via the dashboard and it also became corrupted. I went through File Manager at Godaddy and deleted the theme. I then uploaded the unzipped salient theme via FTP. The site remains corrupted. I am using the zipped files from the download folder - not the entire download folder.

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/08/4875908/html/build2019/wp-content/themes/salient/nectar/helpers/woocommerce.php on line 417

    Third subdirectory: Installed classic editor plugin to remove the new block editor. Installed salient.zip. Returned to the theme panel. Tried to activate Salient. Received the same error:  

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/08/4875908/html/new2019/wp-content/themes/salient/nectar/helpers/woocommerce.php on line 417

    Hey 

    Your PHP Settings are likely not correct.

    Recommended PHP configuration limits are as follows:

    • max_execution_time 60
    • memory_limit 256M
    • post_max_size 48M
    • upload_max_filesize 48M

    Please have your hosting provider fix this for you so it can be installed correctly.

    I moved to a new host. I have a choice of PHP settings 5.6 - 7.3
    What is the preferred PHP?

    Use 7.3 as its needed for the Page Builder.

    Hi Tahir,

    I had already installed the theme via the new plugin and it went well. I updated the PHP after it was installed. I hope that was OK.
