I just updated my contact form plugin and  lost both forms on the website. Also in the wordpress menu options when your in dashboard, the contact form editor is missing. Please help. Also I would like to upgrade the wordpress to the newest version that has the visual editor. Do I need to download the zip and install the new dummy data? If so when I install it again is it going to change my pages that I have already created for the website?

NEVERMIND about the contact form. Apparently when I updated the plugin it deactivated or somehow I deactivated. Still would like to know how to upgrade my wordpress.

    Hey Michelle :)

I'm not sure whether you're trying to update your actual WordPress install or the Theme itself so i'll explain both.

    1. To update WordPress you can do so by clicking on the Dashboard > Updates tab of your admin panel and proceeding through there https://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress

    2. If you're trying to update Salient, this can be accomplished by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new. I recommend using FTP, but you can use the WP dashboard if you prefer. You won’t lose any of your content or theme settings so don’t worry about that if you were :)

    Cheers

Awesome! Thank you! One more question. My "Meet the Team" page is having a redirect problem. I tried saving the permalinks, clearing my cache and re-added that page to the menu but nothing worked. Any I idea on how to ix it?

    Hey Michelle!

Try changing the slug of the page and test. You can further mode try this plugin out: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/monkeyman-rewr... .  referenced from this article: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/wordpress-url-rewrite... .

    Thanks

Got it Thanks! You have already answered this for me but I just want to double check that if I import the Dummy data into the theme its not going to mess anything up. I downloaded the new zip file for the Salient Upgrade. So all I have to do is import the that whole zip file into the theme and I'll be able to start using the visual editor and such, right?

Yes thats correct you have to replace your salient theme folder with the new one.  Make sure to take a backup of the folder before you replace.

    Hey Michelle!

Try the "Wordpress duplicator" Plugin  http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/ for the backup .  As for the error please see FAQ: http://themenectar.ticksy.com/faq/2023

I am still confused. Seeing you are a familiar with this theme can you please tell me what the name of the folder is that I need to upload? I think it's the folder called "salient" because it has a "css" folder in it but it doesn't actually say "style.css" anywhere in any of the folders. When I try to upload the "salient" folder it tries to go further in the folder instead of selecting the whole thing. I'm sure this is getting frustrating for you but I have never done this so if you could dumb it down for me and give me actual file names instead of "final folder" like in the instructions that would be great!

    Hey Michelle!

You have to replace the salient folder so inside of it you have style.css and other php files and folders.
