Major Problems In IE11

    SYSTEM: WINDOWS 8.1, UPDATE 1:

Hello. In Chrome, the Nectar Slider works exactly as designed. In Internet Explorer 11, I am having serious issues including slow video playback, video artifacting, and the text appears in all the wrong places. The video artifacting gets worse after you scroll down and scroll up again.

Again - in Chrome, everything looks and works perfectly. In IE the problems, above, are really bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Smith !

Can you please confirm the issues with our demo site. Also do you have any custom css or third-party plugin that might be causing this issue. If the demo seem to work fine on your machine please try removing the custom css if you have any and try deactivating the third party plugins one by one to find the culprit.

    All the Best,

Hello Tahir and Thanks a million for your response.

I have not installed ANY third party widgets, css, or components that may interfere with the theme. In fact, I installed the theme on a freshly formatted host server and fresh WP install - and also loaded the demo content.

I can confirm that the demo site is also tremendously sluggish and late-responsive on IE11, but it works perfectly on Chrome.

The one difference between my problem and the live demo is that the video on the demo does not suffer artifacting when you scroll - that may be a problem with the encoding on my end, but the sluggishness is consistent across both my install and the Salient live demo.

    Hey Smith!

Could you try turning off the Smooth Scroll option in Salient Theme Options. As that does eat a bit of Cpu power.

    Thanks

I'm experiencing the same issue with the nectar sliders - their text is completely messed up, it almost looks like their width is set to < 200px only on IE11.

Plus, I'm unable to click on either the "footer" options (2,3, or 4 columns) or the portfolio options (3,4, or full-width) within the "salient" settings in the dashboard. The options seem stuck somehow. I see that the theme demo works fine, but I've tried disabling all my plugins and the error was still there.

    I'm using Version: 4.0.3 over at http://tulliospastry.com

Hey Smith! I actually can't see the artifacting or sluggish performance on IE11 on my end - my guess is that the sluggishness was from the smooth scrolling option, which is resource intensive and and can cause noticeable performance deviations on some setups. I see you've disabled that though - are you still seeing the artifacting?

Leonardo - the issue you're experiencing with the slider was sorted in 4.1 :) If you want me to check on your footer/portfolio options i'll need to log into your setup so please open a ticket in regards.

    Cheers!

FWIW.. I can confirm Leonardos issues with IE11 and Nectar Slider text/positioning are fixed in latest version of theme. I was having same issues. All good now (Windows Phone fixed as well!)

    Thanks

Yeap, thanks Eric. Installing 4.1 worked.

Hello! I updated the theme to the most recent version, but the Nectar slider isn't loading in IE11. It's two image slides, really simple, and nothing else.

Any ideas of what I can do, other than making fun of people who still use IE?

    Hey!

Please update to Salient Theme Version 4.5.21 .

Please take a backup of your theme folder before you update so that if there are any changes made to the theme files they are not lost.
You can update your theme by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new.
It's recommended that you use FTP, but this also can be done with the WP dashboard if you prefer. The reason FTP is superior for this is because the theme won't have to be deactivated during the process so you won't have to reassign your widgets. If you're
interested in keeping up to date with the latest changes and fixes, please refer to the changelog: http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html
Also, remember to clear your browser cache after each update if you notice anything off. Old theme files can persist in your local cache and make you think something's wrong.
Also please see this FAQ: http://themenectar.ticksy.com/faq/2252 .

    Thanks
