Conflict between theme and Yoast?

There appears to be a conflict between the salient theme and the yoast SEO plugin.

With both the theme and the plugin activated certain pages of the WordPress dashboard break and only display a blank page. (pages, posts etc.) others work fine.

I've just installed the latest version of Salient. Yoast is up to date too.

The problem seems to have started when i updated to WordPress 3.9 today.

If I leave Yoast active and select another theme the problem goes away.

Similarly, If I leave Salient as the active theme and disable Yoast the problem goes away.

It only persists with both Yoast and Salient active.

    Any ideas?

    Update:

Other plugins also cause similar problems for me when Salient is active.

For example trying to install revolution slider renders all of my dashboard pages as a blank white screen

However the plugin installs and activates without issue when i activate any other theme

    Hey Rob!

Could you please provide wp-admin access in a private reply to this thread so we can take a look.

    Thanks

    Hey Rob!

That is indeed weird. I just tested on my localhost and it seems to be working alright. Could you try turning on Wp_debug to true so we can check for php errors.  Let us know FTP details if you are not sure on how to do it.

    Thanks

    Hey Rob!

Seems like your wp core files have gotten corrupted . Could you try the solution mentioned on this link: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/deactivating-an...

Well... try the usual troubleshooting methods, all of them and make a backup first.

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one b

y one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Issue is resolved. I followed all of the steps above but the admin panel was still inaccessible with both the theme and various plugins active. I got an error message this time though rather than a blank screen when trying to access the admin area. It said "memory limit exceeded". i contacted my host and they upped the limit for php memory and the problem is solved.

I think it was the combination of the theme and the plugins that put it over the limit and thats why they both worked separately but not together.

    Thanks for your help
