I started using the Visual Composer to build pages and have run into some problems. The WYSIWYG system is appealing but appears to irreparably break pages.
I am attaching two videos. The first video, the VC is totally empty (confirmed in Classic Editor) and yet the page slides down and there is empty content (the grey and white bars).
The only way to fix the problem is to delete the page in its entirety and start fresh.
I just want to say I have been using this theme extensively and have never run into this kind of problem. It seems like the VC has some added functionality over the Classic Editor but this kind of breakdown is very troubling. It is as if deleting a row/element leaves a trail of code behind that breaks the page and cannot be deleted. It makes it impossible to tinker with the design.
Please help. Thanks. I'm running the latest WP and Salient and no CSS has been added.
Thank you for the prompt reply. All plugins have been deactivated and this is a fresh install/database. To be clear I have been using nectar short codes up until this point but really want to hop on board with the visual composer. Login details to follow.
It seems that you had not filled in the correct options and the height of the slider therefore the issue. I just setup the Nectar Slider on the Homepage and it seems to be alright now. http://georgepoly.com/clients/ckenney/ . You will have to experiment with it and paly around. Once you get a hang of it you will love how fast you can create page layouts :) .
Hi Tahir, thanks for your help. Do you have a cheat sheet for visual composer short codes? I find that after you create a row and split it into two columns, it is impossible to use the Visual Composer to assign the entire row a background color. I would much prefer doing this by hand.
Like when I create a 3-column row, and then I go back to change the entire row's background color yellow (top right pencil icon), this ends up happening and its driving me nuts:
Since you are hand coding as well as using the shortcodes and at times using the visual composer . It is very difficult to visualize what you have in there and troubleshoot it.
Please either use the Visual Composer or the Text Editor as switching btw them would likely cause issues as Visual Composer follows a certain markup whereas everything should be wrapped inside [vc_row] and the likes.
We would also suggest that you get familiar with Visual Composer and use the Dummy pages to create your own . Once you get a hang of it you'll be amazed and how fast you can create new pages.

When I try to add the nectar slider it gets added underneath this inexplicable empty space, as follows:

Hey George!
Thank you for creating the videos. We would also like to take a look inside your admin so please provide us your login details.
Also can you try deactivating all third-party plugins for a sec and test if any of them is causing the issue.
Thanks
