I figured it out. Its the [vc row] that gets added when I insert the video that's messing it up. It also displays the vc code when I share it to facebook under the post description which does not look good. My other post don't have video so this doesn't happen. How can this be fixed?

Hey Joshua! You can manually define your excerpt for posts that use the page builder by enabling the excerpt field in the screen options pulldown (top right hand side of the edit post screen)
the excerpt field is not called on the single post page and is only used on the main blog archive pages and recent posts element so there should never be any duplicate content on the same page because of that. If you're expericing that, please share the URL where I can take a look :)
Third blog post I added doesnt show a blog excerpt and it seems to have all the same settings as my two previous blog posts.

I dont think this is a theme issue. Could you check the third post excerpt for any special characters or try creating a new one and check.

So when you use this excerpt (built in to WP) … how does that affect any SEO? (referring to duplicate content on the same page)
I use Yoast's SEO Plugin. I enter custom descriptions for each post (ok, I'm lazy and not all are populated but that's always my goal)…
Does anyone know how that works? What's 'duplicated' material and what falls under 'nah, it's ok. The bots understand [this or that]'
