I'm using the Salient Portfolio-Plugin with Salient and I'm stuck trying to translate the plugins' strings to German (language of my WordPress installation).
This is what I tried:
I still found the portfolio strings in the Salient default.po (like "View larger", "Details", "All" for the filterable Portfolio). I translated them but nothing happened. I'm using a de_DE.po/.mo to translate the rest of the theme and it's working – but not for the portfolio.
I found a salient-portfolio.pot in the plugins' /languages-folder. The portfolio strings I'm aming for are in there too. I created a de_DE.po/.mo for the salient-portfolio.pot and stored it in the /languages/-Folder of the plugin. No effect.
What else can I try? Is it a bug or am I just missing something?
You can find the list of string in "salient/lang/nectar_salient_strings.pot" file next to the "msgid" variable as below.
msgid "Leave a Reply"
msgid "Cancel Reply"
In The "Text Domain" field write "salient" without quotes . If you are trying to change woocommerce words add "woocommerce" in "Text domain" . The fields are case-sensitive meaning "next project" wont work and you will have to add "Next Project" .
thanks – this workaround is good for now. In the future I would rather really translate the strings than replace them with a plugin. I hope this will be included in a Salient Update.

Hey Again,
Try using this Plugin : https://wordpress.org/plugins/say-what/ .
