Sidebar navigation

I'm not sure how to handle the sidebar navigation.  If I set it up a sidebar custom menu widget, the same sidebar appears on every page that were I have selected the sidebar template in the Page Attributes.  How do I make it so the sidebars for each page display just  the navigation links related to that section?

    Hey Bridget!

I am afraid we dont have such a widget . You can however use a custom sidebar generator: wordpress.org/extend/plugins/woosidebars/ to add different sidebars on different pages.

    Thanks

Go it. The woosidebars did the trick.

Having conflicts with woosidebar. It is just not functioning properly. I'm using it to create the side navigation. Sometimes the navigation appears on the right, somtimes on the left, and sometimes not at all.  And the pages I specify do not match what appears on the screen when the sidebars do happen to appear.  This is a key functionaliy for the site.  Can you help?

I'm running WP 3.9.1 and Salient 4.1.  and woosidebars 1.3.1.

If this is a plugin issue, can you recommend a different plugin that you know is compatible with your theme and the latest version of WP so I can add side navigation to the site?  Thanks!

    Hey Bridget,

If that plugin is giving you issues I would suggest trying out

https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-logic/ - it should allow you to define what pages certain widgets will display on without having to create new areas

    Cheers
