I can add text below my portfolio thumbnails from the "Project Excerpt", but is it possible to add SHORT CODES to this? They seem to not show up.
Specifically, I'm trying to add a BUTTON below the portfolio excerpt. Is this possible? Would i need to edit the salient portfolio plugin, or is there some way to do this with the existing plugin?

It's not possible to add shortcodes in the project except area as that input field is sanitized from injection of any code.
You would need to modify the theme files and that is something outside the scope of our support.
