I created a child theme using Salient but when I switched back to the parent theme all my icons disappeared. There are supposed to be social icons in the footer. Also on the home page beneath "Why Choose CMI?" there shoould be icons to the left of the text.
The symbols are due to the webfonts not being recognized by the server. You need to add those filetypes to the .htaccess file in the wordpress Installation folder. See url for the .htaccess rules: https://gist.github.com/lindsayevans/794800
I've entered the code in the .htaccess file and uploaded it to the root of my wordpress folder on my domain and sadly nothing happened. No navigation icons in the nectar slider are shown... Just squares!
My navigation icons in the portfolie page are not displaying correct as well. Guess the font/set is used for both of them.
However my icon short codes and social icons are working fine...

When I first created the child theme on my own I got a these symbols: . Now I'm not getting anything.
I'm back to the parent theme... I tried to re-upload the theme but that didn't work either.

I've uploaded the missing files to my child-theme folder and now everything seems to be working!
everything is working fine - except when displaying the site in firefox :(
