Hi, is there a way to build category-like blocks without any link to categories at all? I mean, I'd like to use the same style of category blocks (size, responsiveness, title position, hover effect, grid spacing) to make links to other pages, not to a category. I would love to be able to use the grid (category/post grid) to build blocks that link to other pages.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

In regards to the question, I recommend creating portfolios and using portfolio elements to display.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

Thanks, it's a great solution as long as I can build linked pages (portfolio items) from templates. Too bad, this will add "portfolio/" to permalinks, and it's not so seo-friendly. How could I bypass this problem?

    Thanks!

    Hey Again,

You can use the Image Gallery "Image Grid" Style and link it to individual pages : http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/galleries/ .

Thank you, we're getting closer. I'm sorry but "image grid style" does not allow to add custom links to images, as far as I can see from the settings. Else, is there a way to use portfolio without getting a URL like "xxxxxxx.com/portfolio/pageToCareAbout", I mean, without "portfolio"?

Thanks for your support, I really need to figure out how to display category-like blocks that link to simple pages.

    Hey Again,

    - You have to set the Image link in the Media Library Display Box here : http://prntscr.com/qzbgy3 .

    - Unfortunately the portfolio keyword cant be removed from the url though it can be changed to any other name using the Salient Theme Options Panel -> Portfolio Section.

Thank you, as for now I changed the permalink type to "url/%postname%/" so I can use the post grid block. I'll see if it suits what I need.

    Thanks for your prompt support!
