Images in footer not resizing in Salient

I have been having this issue that images are not showing properly sometimes. The problem is specially PNGs graphics like logos.

Problem 1: On my homepage I have three graphics in PNG that are above AYAHUASCA, ANCIENT RITUALS, SHAMANIC TRAINING. The first screenshot. I originally uploaded the images at the size I wanted it to be at full size but even though the image was crisp, without compressing with plugins or anything, once they are published or in preview they look all choppy and pixelated. I fixed that by upscaling the image in Illustrator and reuploading, then instead of adding an image element, I added them in the text element and click on add media and select the size in the photo in the image details like in screenshot 2.  That fixed the issue but I am not sure if this is normal, I have not seen it before and I have no clue if this is related to the next problem which is the biggest.

Problem 2, the big problem: On the footers I need to add some logos from review sites with a link to those photos. I tried to add an image element in the footer widgets but even if I make a PNG file from a vector file in Illustrator at the 100% size I want it to be displayed and upload it the logo appears very pixelated. You can see this happening now, they are displaying full size. I doubled the size of the images in Illustrator, reuploaded the images to WordPress and added them to the footer widget. Since you can't resize images in the Image element, I added a text element again and added media but even if I resize the images with the image options or edit the HTML code  the image always shows full size in the front end even if at the backend is showing small.

Like in screenshot 3 (43.54.png) - I choose full size. Screenshot 4 (44.22.png) - image on backend shows full size, big and pixelated. Same in front end.

Then I make smaller, hmtl shows smaller, in visual looks smaller and crisp, but in front end still shows the big one, no change.

I turned off all plugins and no fix. I changed theme to twenty twenty and it works, logos show the size I want and crisp.

Amazing, Andrew. It worked. Just two questions.

The logos now show as intended, but the code works on all images. This is now including the WordPress Multilanguange plugin flag in the footer menu. Is there a way to make the change in just selected items, not all images?

Since this had to be done with CSS, does this mean that is a theme related issue? Will this problem be addressed so we can use the images in the footer like in any other wordpress area?
