I am in desperate need of figuring out how to customize a "nectar-shape-divider" element. So I would like to incorporate these elements on the rows throughout my website, however, the preset shape dividers (clouds, waves, etc.) are not the look I am looking for.
I would like to use my own paper torn style svg in place of the preset shape dividers (instead of a cloud edge or one of those). I have scoured the backend php and javascript files searching for ways in which I could swap out or add new svg code to create a paper torn look for a useable shape divider.
I have attached an image of the look of the shape divider i am going for. How can I create this look to consistently be used throughout my site. Thanks for all of the help!
I actually have been able to add this feature to the site and site builder. However, the problem that is occurring is that I had initially inserted the modified files in the child theme, however, doing so, does not push the changes through to the site. In order for me to keep the changes when the theme updates, I'd love to be able to put these files in the child theme.
So, just to be clear here, I was simply going off of the recommendations that you guys have here on your site about modify ing the parent theme. Is there no solution for this case particularly? Or can it just not be done whatsoever?
Yeah, I know I can edit them, the problem is that I cannot save the edits in the child theme folder. There is no effect on the actual site until I put the changes in the parent theme file. Based off of the doc I sent you, shouldn't I be able to put the modified files into a child theme? If so, it is not allowing me and I would appreciate your help in getting it fixed.
Did you get that url via Google ?. I just confirmed this with the Theme Developer and the Article is meant for Salient 12 which will be released soon therefore it wont work in the Current Version .

Here is the link where I found it. http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/overriding-salient-wpbakery-element-template-files-through-a-child-theme/
Hey Again,
Yes you can edit those using that particular docs . The Shape Divider can be edited in the vc_row.php file .
Thanks

Yeah, I just googled the appropriate way to submit changes to Salient. And that came up. As one of the first articles.
Yes i believe the Theme Developer published it before time unintentionally.
