WP Bakery Page Builder does not work at the same time as classic editor. In Posts, when first opening, classic editor shows briefly, then is replaced by wp bakery. If I disable wp bakery, classic editor works fine. Also, when I try to use the wp bakery in posts, it locks up.
You can’t use any two builders on the same page – it’s impossible in WordPress, as builders take control over the page, so trying to mix two builders will not work.
Aye! So, my quest is to use the classic builder on posts, and Bakery on pages -- without having to disable Bakery every time I want to make a post or vice versa.
&&& in the same breath I could plausibly use Bakery on posts too, which would then require disabling the classic builder I assume -- Is that possible?
Thanks Andrew. It partially worked. The classic editor works for posts and WPBakery for pages -- without turning on and off the WPBaker Plugin, but I can only edit existing pages and cannot create a new one. When I try and create a new page, everything loads up fine but when I start typing the page freezes and must be closed.
Ahah! It's my laptop. I too can create a new page on my work station. But on the laptop, no change, the page locks up when I try to enter text into any field.
Any idea why it would be one computer and not the other? My laptop also does not send images to lightbox. I have been working on this one for a week and no joy either.
And
a new clue - the page builder page locks up with either WPBakery Plugin active
or inactive.
Both posts and pages.
Another clue - It doesn't appear to be locking up tight - just very very slow,
30 seconds or a minute to respond.
Another clue - on Posts, w/ WPBakery deactivated, once the initial
30 sec to 1 minute pause elapses, all works normally.
It doesn't appear to be my hardware, Photoshop CC can
perform one of it's most complicated functions (smart blur) with little to no
delay on a 70 mb file, which is a major load.
Laptop cache.
I cleared everything, all time.
I tested with and without WPBakery role manager set to various
things.
IT's not the hosting cache because it is occurring on multiple website on
both GoDaddy (one site) and Bluehost (two sites) - all with separate
installs of WP.
No joy with incognito window.
If I create a new page on my work station, I can edit it on my
laptop.
I am beginning to think it was my last Windows X update. What do
you think, and do you know how to rollback or reupdate?
Thanks for your help, at least I have a couple of Workarounds
now. Stay safe and DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!
That is most odd. Am sure it has nothing to do with salient theme because it works on other devices. You can also check the version of browser installed. About the operating system installed in your machine, the best option is to check out to their support forums as they will be in a better position.

Hi there,
Sorry for delay in response.

Hi there,
Adjust the setting in WPBakery page builder > Role manager
Hope this helps.

Hi Bruce,
I was able to create a new page without any issue with WPBakery builder.

Andrew - please see my previous post about the problem being my laptop.
And a few more things I have tried:
Disabled all plugins
Changed theme to Twentytwenty
Thanks,
Bruce
Hi Bruce,
It has to be an issue with cache. Try emptying all browser cache and even check in incognito mode.
Hope this helps.
