Portfolio prev/next sorting?

    Hi there,

I am almost ready to go with my site, and have run into a small issue. I am using a portfolio page to display my work, and also use a portfolio template for a gallery of images and videos.

However, when I am viewing a portfolio item, the previous/next buttons still link to all portfolio items, rather than the categories the portfolio page was selected to use.

Is there any way of getting the portfolio item to inherit the category selection that the portfolio is based on and apply those filters to the prev/next portfolio item function?

    Thanks,

    Nick.

Additionally, this would also affect the Portfolio Widget too, as this also shows all portfolio items rather than specific categories.

    Cheers,

    Nick.

    Hey Nick!

Can you please provide your wp-admin login details in a private response so we can take a look and possibly sort this for you.

    Cheers

    Hi there,

I have been running my site locally using MAMP, so haven't got it uploaded anywhere yet. It is not so much a bug that I am talking about, but more a feature request. I just find the recent work widget and the navigation controls on a portfolio item unusable now, as I am using the portfolio post type for two different sections of the site.

If you aren't too sure of what I mean I am happy to create a basic outline of what I'm referring to and upload that somewhere for you to look at.

    Cheers,

    Nick.

    Hey Nick!

As of now this would indeed require some development (easiest way to associate the single project page with the main page it appears on would be through ajax)- but i've noted to +1 these ideas for the wishlist :)

    Cheers

    Hey ,

We have an option in the latest version ( 6.1.65 ) to limit the Previous/Next arrows on a Portfolio item to stay within the category using this option : http://prntscr.com/942w3b in Salient Theme Options Panel - > Portfolio Section .

    Best.
