Basically I'm wondering if it's possible to have a boxed layout in desktop view and a full width view in mobile/tablet views so that I can have my content occupy more space in these views?
No i am afraid not. The fullwidth option is handled by JS so you will likely have to dive deep into the code . Which we wouldn't recommend if you do not have sufficient knowledge.
