This has made my client and I really unhappy. Using an image gallery was what we wanted to get away from. The portfolio post type allows us to easily move things from recent to past work as well as add work. Lightbox usually has a caption on it, in my experience. That really does seem like a basic kind of thing. I tried and I'm surprised that it won't even pull a caption from the media library. Is this something that you get a lot of questions about and requests for?
The Portfolio Page Element is designed to work differently and therefore does not pull the caption from its Image set in the "Featured Image Metabox" .
If you wish to show captions in the Lightbox you will have to use the Image Gallery Element . The Caption should be written in the Description Field.
Is there a way to have image captions appear in the lightbox?
