I would like to redirect my wordpress site(e.g. mysite.com) to an external link while I am building the site. I have looked at numerous maintenance and redirect plugins but can't seem to find a plugin that does what I need. The maintenance plugins all require a maintenance (under construction) page and the redirect plugins don't allow me to view my work in progress as it redirects to the URL I have nominated.

Sorry, after persevering I found a plugin that answers my question.
The CGC Maintenance Mode plugin does the job.
