I received an email on October 8 notifying me that an update was available for Salient. I went through the steps for updating. All told it was a success. However, Salient WP Bakery plugin isn't functioning as expected with these latest updates. Whenever I click to edit any page using the "Edit with WPBakery Page Builder" link, I receive an icon with a sad face behind it (see screen shot attached). I'm unable to update any pages. Please advise.

    Hi Dianna,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Could you try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Andrew,

I have 17 plug-ins. I deactivated all of them one-by-one that were not related to Salient. I tested in between each deactivation. The WP Bakery Page Builder was still loading as shown in my original screen shot.

Then, interestingly, I decided to deactivate the "Salient Demo Importer" because it's not something I will use. I then went to test. Now, I see the page behind the icon rather than the sad mac face, but it still isn't loading as expected. See screen shot, you can now (faintly) see the "About Autograf" headline and text below it.

How can we get this Page Builder working?

    Thank you,

    Dianna

    Hi Dianna,

That is odd. Please check your PHP settings.

Could you increase the value for PHP Max execution time to 300 and PHP Memory limit to at least 512mb  and confirm if this makes a significant difference while making changes.

Also check for server php errors and let us know the results.

You can use this guide: http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/your-complete-guide-to-troubleshooting-wordpress/ .

Furthermore check for Browser Console Errors : https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/

    Thanks.
