Hi,
My client is using an outdated version (8.5.6) of Salient. For some reason in Chrome browser the menu is gone and the WP dashboard is out of clickable menu items. In Microsoft Edge everything is ok.
Can i safely update Salient to it's latest version without loosing the layout or content? User has not made a child theme.

It is working on chrome when tested on our end

Hi Andrew, thanks for checking. I cleared my browser cache AND hosting cache. But it still doesn''t work for me. I will check other devices here at home.
What is your thought about my updating question?

A Lot have have changed in current version since there have been major releases. Please check the article on what to expect- http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/important-salient-update-for-new-envato-requirements/

To get a list of Bug Fixes and new Feature addons in the Latest Theme update, the changelog can be viewed here : http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html .

Update the theme using the following guide http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/updating-salient/
Please consider performing update on the staging version of you site first.
