    Hi Paris,

Edit the page and use Force Transparency Option in "Page Header Settings" Metabox . See screenshot :

    Thanks.

Hello good morning! I have already set force transparency on Navigation on the page. What I need is to set the Header to Permanent Transparent on the Salient Menu. This is so that it will allow the header to remain transparent even after scroll down. I installed the Salient child theme through the Child Theme Configurator, I don't know if this is what caused it but that particular feature and some features aren't available. I already tried deactivating some of the plugins to see whether if that what causes it but to no avail. I think this is what MAY have caused it because when I've checked my localhost the 'Header Permanent Transparent' feature is available.

Also, you need to remove the Child Theme Configurator and use the Child Theme Provided in the Themeforest Download Bundle.

    Thanks

    Hello Tahir,

Where can I find the Themeforest Download Bundle? The salient-child which I installed doesn't have the functionality that I need. I am afraid that if I change the theme, it might ruin the design which I have been working on. Thanks for the help.

    Thanks Tahir,

I'll ask my boss about this. I'll get back at you as soon as I get an answer.

    Hello,

I'm having this problem also - the "Header Permanent Transparent" checkbox is not appearing in my Salient theme options. I've installed Salient version 16.1.3 and WordPress 6.4.3, and the Salient Child Theme. I uninstalled and re-installed the theme and plugins, tested with other plugins off, checked my PHP settings in your installation instructions, and nothing worked.

Setting "Force Transparency" on individual pages isn't working, and attempting to override by adding custom CSS isn't working either.

Thanks in advance for helping to resolve this issue.

    Hey Again,

Which Demo and Skin are you using for the Salient Theme?

    Thanks

    Hi Tahir,

It's been a while since I installed it, but I believe it's the Old School theme with the Corporate demo. How can I confirm this for you?

    Hi Shana,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Please check and ensure that you have not set the header size to contained in the Salient > Header Navigation > Layout & Content Related. You should set it the default to get access to the transparent header settings.

Try this and let us know if this resolves your issue.

Thank you for your reply Andrew,

I had not selected "full header size" - I had it set to the default already but my options appear on that page differently than yours.

I have included a screenshot from the "Header Navigation > Layout & Content Related" option page that you indicated, showing different-looking options than what you indicated in your screenshot. I don't see a drop-down for header size, but there's a toggle. And no option for "Roundess" - though I don't need it in this case. My option for "full header size," the toggle, is off.

I have also included the screenshot showing the missing option for "Header Permanent Transparent" on the "Header Navigation  >  Transparent Header Effect" page. This is where I'm missing the option to "Force Header Transparent." If I had this option and could select the box, it would solve the problem.

Why does my the "Header Navigation > Layout & Content Related" option page look different than yours?

Why am I missing the "Header Permanent Transparent" option in my settings?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the theme and plugins, and have the most current version of WordPress, 6.4.3, running on PHP 8.1.27.

    What else can I try?

Please let me know and thank you!

    Hi Shana,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Changing the header layout should sort this out for you.

    Hi Andrew,

I had already selected "Menu Bottom Bar" as the header layout, please refer to the screenshot in my previous reply.

    Hi Shana,

Thank you for getting back to us.

My apologies for the confusion, what I meant is that you change from the "Menu Bottom Bar" to any other layout like the "Default Layout" to fix this issue. Different layouts offer different settings in the header navigation panel and the "Menu Bottom Bar" does not have the "Header Permanent Transparent" checkbox and the option to change the header size.

Try this and let us know how it goes.

    Best regards,

  • Shana replied

Thank you, I changed header types and then I was able to access the "Header Permanent Transparent" option using the Default Header but turning it on doesn't make the header transparent on all my pages.

I've also turned on "Use Transparent Header When Applicable" under Settings > Header Navigation > Transparent Header Effect > Use Transparent Header When Applicable but it's not working.

Also, the option under "Header Navigation" on individual pages called, "Force Transparency On Navigation" is only working on the homepage. When I turn it on for an inner page, it stays solid at the top. If I change an inner page to be the homepage, then it goes transparent. If I copy the home page and save it as another page, I lose the header transparency.

The only way I can get page header transparency to work behind the logo and menu items is to use a background image on individual pages, and I don't want that. I just want a transparent header on all pages on the site.

Is there any way to achieve this?

    Thank you

    Hi Shana,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

For the transparent header to work,  you must have a page header or nectar slider at the top of the page for it to activate.

The other option would be to force the transparency page by page, as you have mentioned in your email. Try adding a header to your pages and see if this works for you.

Also, if you have Yoast Breadcrumbs activated, you need to remove these from your site as they can also prevent the transparent header from triggering.

Try that and let us know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

  • Shana replied

    Thank you, Andrew-

After trying everything else, turning off Yoast Breadcrumbs in the Yoast plugin solved the problem. Thank you for suggesting that, I really appreciate your help!

Once I turned off Yoast Breadcrumbs the "Force Transparent Header" option on individual pages is working.

    Thanks again!
