I've made a sidebar for a shop that lists all product categories but I would like some subcategories to be hidden with a little plus sign and only expand when clicked, like an accordion menu or something. Is this possible or do you have a plugin you would recommend for this?

You can add the Code in the "Custom JS Code" Box in the Salient Theme Options Panel -> General Settings.
