Have you also tried to deactivate your plugins to see if any were causing the issue with the AJAX loading? I noticed you had some activate that could present issues such as lazy loading.
The lazy loading might indeed interfere with the portfolio element in addition to other things - still I would recommend just disabling all plugins for a minute to check if everything works without them. If that's the case then you could start enabling them one by one until you find the conflicting one :)
and another question actually - so in the "template list" on the right hand side of the page - should i have more options there? i uploaded all the dummy data and am using the latest theme - but the template list hasn't lengthened.
sorry i am full of the questions... could it be something in my portfolio settings in the Salient settings?
1. Logging back in I don't see any portfolio page added to the menu which would be the only way to test it through an ajax transition - would you mind if I add one to test?
2. The page templates in the page attributes box are just basic starter pages - the newer pages seen on the demos are made up using visual composer and require you to import the dummy data file to get them. If you need any specific pages I can provide the code as well :)
im a novice! all i did was upload the theme and the dummy data and made amendments in the theme itself... this is actually the first time I'm using any dummy data - but definitely didn't make any changes to the files - wouldn't know where to begin :)
Please take a backup of your theme folder before you update so that if there are any changes made to the theme files they are not lost.
You can update your theme by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new.
It's recommended that you use FTP, but this also can be done with the WP dashboard if you prefer. The reason FTP is superior for this is because the theme won't have to be deactivated during the process so you won't have to reassign your widgets. If you're
interested in keeping up to date with the latest changes and fixes, please refer to the changelog: http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html
Also, remember to clear your browser cache after each update if you notice anything off. Old theme files can persist in your local cache and make you think something's wrong.
Also please see this FAQ: http://themenectar.ticksy.com/faq/2252 .
So i deleted the old file, re uploaded the theme as well as the dummy data and the portfolio is still not working. i cleared the cache also but still no portfolio. what else can i try?
Hey Sherisse, I haven't been in your site since my last response actually - I however just tried to log into your server with the provided FTP account but could not gain access. Is there a specific port # to connect with or did you change the credentials at all?
I just uploaded a clean version of the theme and can see the same issues are occuring - I then started inspecting your server setup through FTP and noticed something really weird - it seems you have the contents of the theme inside your root public_html directory - somehow when you were uploading the theme one of these times all the contents ended up in the wrong place. I'm assuming this is what's responsible for the very strange behavior. Is there anyway you could indeed just wipe everything and reinstall WP to rule out any of the rogue issues outside of the theme?
Hey Sherisse!
Have you also tried to deactivate your plugins to see if any were causing the issue with the AJAX loading? I noticed you had some activate that could present issues such as lazy loading.
Cheers
are there any in particular which i should have deactivated? would that also be affecting the portfolio elements not working?
thanks

hiya - so disabled all plugins - still not working :(, I'm really at a loss! please could you have a look and see what is causing this?

Hey again,
1. Logging back in I don't see any portfolio page added to the menu which would be the only way to test it through an ajax transition - would you mind if I add one to test?

hiya - happy for you to add whatever you like :)
The site is in a minmal state at the moment as I'm relaunching it soon, so my usual menu items are down but feel free to add it in.
really love the new design so trying to incorporate as much as possible into my refined site!
Hey again!
So for some reason with or without AJAX transitions I can't see your portfolio element appear at all: http://nurebelle.com/?page_id=1894
Have you made any mods to the theme files? I'm noticing a few things that shouldn't be happening by default
hiya,
im a novice! all i did was upload the theme and the dummy data and made amendments in the theme itself... this is actually the first time I'm using any dummy data - but definitely didn't make any changes to the files - wouldn't know where to begin :)
Hey Sherisse!
Could you please try reuploading the file.
Please take a backup of your theme folder before you update so that if there are any changes made to the theme files they are not lost.

Hey Sherisse, I haven't been in your site since my last response actually - I however just tried to log into your server with the provided FTP account but could not gain access. Is there a specific port # to connect with or did you change the credentials at all?
the port number is 21, hope that helps?

I just uploaded a clean version of the theme and can see the same issues are occuring - I then started inspecting your server setup through FTP and noticed something really weird - it seems you have the contents of the theme inside your root public_html directory - somehow when you were uploading the theme one of these times all the contents ended up in the wrong place.
