    Is it possible to hide individual posts from the next / previous widget or alter them to just serve items from within their assigned category?

    Thanks for your reply Andrew.

    I don't seem to have that option on a blog page or within a category. I can only do that when I insert a blog element within a page somewhere - even then when you click through it will show posts from different categories in the next/from links.

    The examples shown below are the end of a blog post and are from different categories.

    Thanks for your patience on this. 

    You can hide the Related Posts on Blog Single Pages using the field in the screenshot below, however there is no such option to alter the Posts category criteria at the moment.
