We have inherited an old wordpress site for a client and are trying to make it work for them.

It has Salient theme version 7.6. Salient Visual Composer has Version 4.12.1. Wordpress is updated to version 5.7.

The problem is, when I the client tries to enter content in the editor, it shows "classic editor" with no way to change out of that, and code that has a lot of [vc_row type="in_container" full_screen_row_position="middle" scene_position="center" text_color="dark" text_align="left" ...

I'm assuming these are old versions of the theme and plugin, but there's nothing indicating the plugin or theme are out of date.  The client doesn't want to change the look and feel of the site.  How can we fix this, and where can I get proper versions of the plugin and them, so that the funky tags are gone and the client can easily edit their content?

    Hi Stephen Ash,

Salient theme has gone through huge changes and in this case we will highly recommend that you update your theme.

Since you're on a version prior to 10.5 and are considering updating, it's important to read through our update guide before updating to ensure a smooth transition: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/important-salient-update-for-new-envato-requirements/.

    Thanks.
