Hello. I would like to start with saying that the Salient theme is excellent and I am very happy with my purchase. I am fairly new to Wordpress web design but the theme is very easy to use and your support documentation is amazing.
I looked at other tickets for an answer but did not quite find the same issue I'm experiencing. I apologize if this has been asked a million times.
I'm building my portfolio website using the masonry grid. However, I'm noticing that not all the photos line up and there are large gaps (please see attached screenshots).
I made sure that all the thumbnails are the recommended sizes (regular = 500px x 500px, wide = 1000px x 500px, tall = 500px x 1000px, wide+tall = 1000px x 1000px).
When I look at the page info in Firefox, it shows their scaled values and I'm seeing:
regular = 289px x289px wide = 598px x 299px tall = 289px x 578px wide+tall = 598px x 598px
So as you can see regular and tall are being scaled to a different scale than wide and wide+tall.
Can you please guide me on how to fix this? I plan on adding more content to my site so the grid will grow.
Also, is there a quick way to rearrange the order of the images in the grid without having to manually change the dates of each portfolio post?
thank you for the reply. I didn't realize there was a template for a grid in the Salient template section. However, I would my grid to look like it does in the Salient Minimal Portfolio Demo: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-minimal-portfolio/
I had initially started with the demo website with the intention of replacing the photos with my own. However, I discovered once I installed the demo, not all the posts were showing up in Firefox (only 3) but all of them were showing up in Chrome.
So I moved all the posts to draft except 1, customized it and then duplicated it for each subsequent post. In theory, I would have thought it would work, but I'm getting the spacing issue.
again thank you for the recommendation. However, I was hoping to find a solution that can correct my current issue without having to manually rebuild the masonry grid from scratch.
I will look at the templates further and see if that is the simplest way to go, but I'm surprised there is no other solution...
