I noticed that on your new skin Ascend, you are able to have the nector slider on the home screen take up the whole screen on mobile. Is there a way that can be done on the salient theme. (which is what I have)

    Thanks in advance

    Hey James!

You have to use the Flexible Slider Height option in Nectar Slider.

Also when using the flexible slider height option you have to enter the slider height based on how big your images would be at for eg 1600px wide - this will ensure the scaling is perfect with no clipping.

The flexible slider height option makes the Nectar Slider respond perfectly to ensure there's no clipping on any view - leaving it off will cause the height of the slider to change only once per every viewport change (desktop, ipad, mobile) and clip variously between them.

    Thanks

Yea, I'm not seeing flexible slider height in the nectar slider. I'm on Salient Modern Creative (www.jstlouis.com)

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot. Please let me know. I've attached where I'm looking

    Thanks again

    Hey!

Please update to Salient Theme Version 4.5.22 .

Please take a backup of your theme folder before you update so that if there are any changes made to the theme files they are not lost.
You can update your theme by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new.
It's recommended that you use FTP, but this also can be done with the WP dashboard if you prefer. The reason FTP is superior for this is because the theme won't have to be deactivated during the process so you won't have to reassign your widgets. If you're
interested in keeping up to date with the latest changes and fixes, please refer to the changelog: http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html
Also, remember to clear your browser cache after each update if you notice anything off. Old theme files can persist in your local cache and make you think something's wrong.
Also please see this FAQ: http://themenectar.ticksy.com/faq/2252 .

    Thanks

If I update the theme is there a possibility that I would have to redesign anything? or does everything stay the same and it's just functions and bugs that are fixed/changed?

  • James replied

Also will the update affect custom fonts and CSS changes?

    Hey James !

If you have made changes to the theme files then they will likely be lost since the files will be replaced with new ones. Best is to rename the salient old folder and then upload the new one.

    Thanks
