I have today updated to Wordpress 4 and it looks like the Salient visual editor is no longer working. When I go to edit a page the visual editor is no longer there, the Nectar Shortcodes button does no work and the small triangles that open/close sections (such as the page header) have also stopped working.
As the page editor opens you get a very quick glimpse of the visual editor but then it is gone.
Visual editor hasn't been turned off in Salient options or settings. I have tested this out in Safari, Chrome and Firefox with the same result.
Same result here... Updated to WP4 last night and then visual editor became flaky. Windows open but don't close. can't delete visual components. Haven't updated to Salient Version 4.5.22 yet though. Planning on doing that now. But since that updated pre-dated the WP4 release, I'm not expecting the problem to resolve itself.
Update... After upgrading to Salient Version 4.5.22 the problem has been minimized. The initial edit view of a page is still flaky (displaying raw code before the page fully loads and the visual editor appears). But no longer a problem using the editor.
I had already updated the theme to 4.5.22 before WP4 was released. In my initial post I referred to 'visual editor' just to avoid any confusion I am actually talking about the 'visual composer'. I can still edit pages in the standard WP method using the visual or text views, but the visual composer feature is no longer present.
I have tracked my issues with the visual composer down to a plugin conflict, it appears that "comprehensive google maps" is the cause. I used this plugin instead of the google map built into salient as I wanted the ability to find directions within the page itself and it worked without problems with salient until the update to WP4.
Plugin deactivated - visual composer working correctly again.
