However, I cannot access the file the error refers to.
That message would occur when using PHP 7.4+ on your server along with an outdated version of Salient (less than v13). You can remove it by updating to the latest theme version: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/updating-salient/
I am unable to log in to the wp-admin of the website to upgrade due to the error. Is there another method to update the latest theme version without access to the administrator section?
I downgraded the PHP version to 7.3 to see if that would allow me access, however, the error still appears.

I'd be happy to upgrade, but I can't access the wp-admin area due to the error. I followed the like provided, however, after following the instructions, the error messages continues to display on the wp-admin page.
Amendment to the last response. I was able to comment out a small bit of code in class.redux_filesystem.php and it allowed access to the admin login page. I was then able to make the necessary updates and all is working now. Thanks for the assistance!!

Downgrading to PHP 7.3 has worked for some users. Are you on the latest version of Salient 13.0.5 ?.
