Since Wordpress 4.0 update, a bug appears in portfolio video items.

I updated salient to v-4.5.22 but it didn't solve my problem...

The self-hosted  16/9 video files are cropped and the theme display a 100% by 274px player! There was no problems with the wp-3.9.1 version on the same pages.

I didn't found anything helpfull in this forum. Do you have an idea of the origin of the problem?

    (sorry for my bad english)

I guess something must have change in the /wp-includes/js/mediaelement/ files in WP-4.0??

  • Pierre replied

I finally downgraded to wp-3.9.2, watching for a patch for video height in self-hosted video shortcode in a futur salient version for wp-4.0...

    Hey Pierre,

for some reason WP 4.0 remove the default height from being set to the height of the file uploaded - it now defaults to 360 is not specified. To counter this for you if you want to upgrade you can use the video shortcode and add a heght attribute on it

    Cheers

Thanks a lot for your reply and advice.

I hope wp team will reintroduce the height detection while uploading video in a future version...

    Best wishes

    Hey,

Auto update the theme to 5.5.5 using this plugin http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-update-themeforest-themes-with-the-envato-wordpress-toolkit/
After Updating be sure to Activate Salient Visual Composer as its now a standalone plugin from here :
If you prefer to update manually see: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes
Also this might be of some help: http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/upgrade-wordpress-themes-even-if-they-are-customized/
