This is something I've been meaning to ask for a while. Salient adds A LOT of different image sizes and before long a site can eat up substantial server space very quickly. Do you have any plans to be able to turn off some of the image sizes? I have uploaded just one image to a new install and it creates 16 copies of the file in different sizes. If I was to start adding image galleries etc it's going to start filling up very quickly.
Thank you for notifying us of this, before I escalate to the developer for a closer look and assistance, do you have the thumbnail regenerator plugin installed?
Hey there,

Hello Jan,
Thanks for getting in touch with us.
Thank you for notifying us of this, before I escalate to the developer for a closer look and assistance, do you have the thumbnail regenerator plugin installed?
Thanks,
Not currently no. I only have one image uploaded at this time.
Hello Jan,
Thanks for writing in.
You can remove some of the image sizes using this guide here http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/modify-image-sizes/
Regards,
Thanks for this.
Will the regenerate thumbnails remove the created images after turning them off in the functions.php?
Hi Jan,
Thanks for getting in touch.
The script will prevent images from being resized to many image sizes.
To remove the already created images, look at our optimization guide here http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/performance-optimization-guide/
Thanks.
So no way to remove them. I really need to insert the script before I start building?
Hi Again Jan,
Please have a look at the tutorial here https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-clean-up-your-wordpress-media-library/ on how you can clean / remove the images
Thanks.
