    Hi,

I recently updated to Wordpress 4.0 and I'm having A LOT of trouble with me media library since then.
If I try to upload a media with a page editor, it will duplicate the media to about a thousand different unrecognizable files.
And if I try to upload it directly into the media library, it uploads correctly but doesn't save it properly (i noticed after refreshing the page) so I can't access it in any way.

I've seen some forums about this kind of issue online but I didn't come across a solution.

    Can anyone help me please?

    Thanks,
    k

I just noticed that the medias are showing properly in the list view of the media library but not in the thumbnail view.
Unfortunately, page composer only uses the thumbnail view...

But that doesn't explain the multiple media bug generated by the uploader...

    Hey Karl!

Have you tried to see if this occurs when disabling any plugins you have active and also confirming that it's only an issue when Salient is active?

    Hi!

After 2 hours of testing every plugins and different way to uploads, I've noticed that WPML is causing the library problem.

WPML Media plugin is duplicating the uploaded media to a thousand copies.
and other WPML plugins are making invisible the new uploads...

Actually, WPML Multilingual CMS plugin is making the new uploads invisible...

And this issues with WPML only occurs when Salient is active, correct?

  • Karl replied

I'm not sure... I've seen other forums talking about that bug happening with Enfold and other popular themes as well..
I'm currently in discussion with WPML Support to see if it's their problem or not. I don't know if it's a compatibility problem.

From my testing it seems to also occur when a default WP theme is active as well - it sounds like it's an actual issue between WP 4.0 and WPML

    Hi again,

    WPML plugins weren't updating properly.
I managed to link my site directly to the WPML.org site so it can update automatically and it looks fine so far. I'll see if it's all okay after publishing a new portfolio item.

    Thanks,
