Hey guys, realise you are busy working on this but wanted to share our issues re- Salient and iOS 8 compatibility.
- Video imbeds (Vimeo in our case) won't play in Safari running iOS 8 on the iphone / ipad, they do however play in chrome but very few on iOS 8 are running this anyway.
- Header/sub text doesn't display on nectar slider (Does display in chrome but fonts are soft/blurred).
- Over all slower loading times it seems.
Thank you for making one of the greatest themes out there. Damn you Apple and you're updates... hope this can be resolved soon, we're checking in daily ;)
the problem with the font display in Nectar Slider in IOS Safari 8 (Iphone 5) is the latest update 4.8. not yet resolved. The heading and the caption are displayed, but they are still not sharp, they are soft / blurred.

Unfortunately Vimeo embeds still hang...However one did work?... Double checked directly through vimeo and the files/links are fine. I can't confirm until I test on a few different connections but for now it seems to be hit and miss...

I have double checked everything and all Vimeo embeds are embed-able. Some are public on Vimeo, some are not and some have restrictions to only play on selected urls.
I have listed electricstreet.com.au (Salient theme) and my personal website bennoonan.com (Bookcase theme - uses PrettyPhoto as well) to allow embeds via Vimeo.
All the same embeds load and playback on my personal website in iOS 8 but wont on my companies website, electricstreet.com.au using Salient.
Everything works perfectly on Mac and PC desktops in all browsers... just hangs in iOS8.
We too did just include some vimeo videos on our site via prettyphoto as lightbox and on iPhones with iOS8 its not working but on iOS7 it does.
That being said prettyphoto doesn't seem to be very responsive as the video is too small. So maybe this isn't Salient but prettyphoto that doesn't work?

Something breaks on Safari ios8. Not sure what, but the page reloads. I think it may be trying to play a video file in a nectar slider... Works fine on android and desktops...
All ios issues were sorted in Theme Version 4.8.1 . You seem to have a Flash embed panorama which could be causing the issue on ios as it has no flash support.
Thanks, the flash panorama is javascript based and loads html5 for iPad and flash when it is enabled. I changed some salient settings, and it is working now (4.9) but the layout is still broken. Please see attached screenshots showing iPad view and desktop view. There is space between the elements on the iPad.

BTW as mentioned... Same Vimeo embeds loaded perfectly in iOS7 before apples damn update.
