    I would like to add a widget above my menu bar in order to insert custom built advertising banners (we don't want to use Google Ad banners). Salient theme does not appear to have a header widget available. Is there any add-ons that would allow me to do this?

    I am afraid we don't have this feature at the moment however we will add this wishlist for the coming updates.

    Also, you would have to customize the "header.php" via a Child Theme to add in such a widget area.
