Hi! I couldn't find a switcher for Flyout Widget Area (slide out), which is used in Ascend theme and available by clicking an icon in the Header menu.

    How use switch it on?

    Hey!

Please see Salient Theme Options. Also you might have to switch to the ascend skin to have that option. The skin dropdown is also in the Salient Theme Options menu.

    Thanks

I activated the flyout but I want to change the background color.  I tried using: #slide-out-widget-area {background-color: rgb(40 40 40);} but that doesn't work.

Tahir, sorry for stupid question, but could you please tell me exactly where to find this option?

I switched to the "Ascend" skin, but still couldn't find this option/switcher (I looked everywhere: Header, Footer, General, etc.). No luck :(

That's strange, I don't have this option in the "Header" section. Right after "Full width header" I see "Disable Ajax from Search", then "Header Color Theme" (check my screenshot).

I'm using Child Theme (which was included; no modifications made anywhere yet) for Salient 4.5.22 (from themeforest.net). Ascend skin -> ON.

p.s.: I'm using Chiled Theme just in case I want to modify something, and want keep Salient up-to-date, but as I wrote above - no customization made.

    Hey!

Please update to Salient Theme Version 4.8.1 .

Please take a backup of your theme folder before you update so that if there are any changes made to the theme files they are not lost.
You can update your theme by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new.
It's recommended that you use FTP, but this also can be done with the WP dashboard if you prefer. The reason FTP is superior for this is because the theme won't have to be deactivated during the process so you won't have to reassign your widgets. If you're
interested in keeping up to date with the latest changes and fixes, please refer to the changelog: http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html
Also, remember to clear your browser cache after each update if you notice anything off. Old theme files can persist in your local cache and make you think something's wrong.
Also please see this FAQ: http://themenectar.ticksy.com/faq/2252 .

    Thanks

Thanks! That's worked. Very strange, I thought I've donwloaded latest version from ThemeForest, looks like there was some delay in update. Now I got the latest version and my problem is solved (widget option is there).

    Thank you!
