What is the proper way to create a full width image?

I believe it is to use the full width section and set an image as the background.

If that is so, how large should the picture be so that the entire picture is displayed?

    Hey!

You can add in an image via the Single Image Page Element for it to appear as is on all browser widths. The background method will crop the images in some widths as it uses the browser cover method. The images should not be greater then 1920 px wide.

    Thanks

    Tahir,

I'm not using the Visual Composer, I tried using it and was finding it a little buggy. Is there a way to do this without the Visual Composer?

No i am afraid not. Simply use the visual composer and the text block page element where you need to add text or shortcodes. Please see Page Builder Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4mt0lOJ888

    Thanks
