Yes, it's not available with the Left Header Option. 

Please provide the page url so that i can write up the custom css for whats possible.

I am afraid with the Left Header Layout such features are not available.

Try setting a Custom Header Color scheme in the Salient Theme Options Panel -> Header Navigation Section and check.
