    Hi there,

    I'm trying to add two links above the menu in the header.

    I have tried different options but I don't seem to be able to add two links - only one.

    Do you have any ideas how to do that? Have attached a mockup to explain...

    Thanks,

    Vibeke

    Hello Vibeke,

    Thanks for getting in touch with us.

    I recommend you use the secondary header salient feature. Here is our guide http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/theme-options/header-navigation/#secondary

    Thanks.

    Hi Eliud,

    Thanks for getting back to me. Is the secondary header not for a single link only? I need two links...

    Thanks,

    Vibeke

    Hello Vibeke,

    Thanks for keeping in touch.

    I recommend you create the links as menu links and check the menu to show on secondary navigation

    Hi again Eliud :)

    The secondary Menu already seems to be "taken" (see screenshot) by pages from the Mega Menu. I think this has happened automatically, as I have not done this manually.

    Any ideas? :)

    Hi There,

    You may need to add them from here:

    Hi Judith,

    Thank you -I've tried that but seeing I need two links rather than just one, I don't think that works.

    I think Eliud is probably right about using the secondary menu - however, the mega menu is already there. Not sure if I'm able to delete it without wrecking the site structure. Do you know that?

    Thanks,

    Vibeke

    Hi There,

    You have mega menu on your secondary header? Is that what you meant?

    Thanks.

    Hi :)

    Well, the entire menu -  incl. mega header items - is on the "Andreasskolen Main Navigation (Top navigation)" - attached.

    Then all the 3rd level menu items in the Mega header appears to be on the Secondary header as well - attached. I haven't manually created this Secondary header (knowingly ;).

    I have attached a screenshot of the Mega menu on the site.

    I'm not sure if I can erase the Secondary header without loosing the Mega header items? All pages are listed in the "Andreasskolen Main Navigation (Top navigation) after all... But that would free up space to add the two links at the top of the page.

    Thanks again,

    Vibeke

    Hey Again,

    1. Create a new Menu with two Menu Items / links .

    2. Assign that menu to the "Secondary Header" Location to get a menu in the reference image you posted in the first message.

    Thanks

    Hi Tahir,

    Thank you! That works - sort of. The links now display at the top, but on a white background. How do I make the links appear on a transparent background?

    Thanks,

    Vibeke

    Hi There,

    Please try this css:

    #header-secondary-outer, #header-outer #header-secondary-outer, body #header-outer #mobile-menu .secondary-header-text {
        background-color: #ffffff00;
    }

    Thanks.

    Hello Vibeke,

    Use the css below:

    body #header-secondary-outer {
        background-color: transparent!important;
    }

    Thanks.

    Hi Eliud and Judith,

    Thank you - both codes work in making the background transparent, but the problem is the font color. The links are hard to see on transparent background and should be white when on transparent and black when header is white. Also the dividing  lines are still visible. Is there any solution to this?

    Also - when making screen size smaller, the Facebook icon moves to the middle and takes up a lot of room. How do I remove this from the secondary header? The Facebook logo should sit on the main navigation menu.

    Thank you for persevering in this :)

    Hey Again,

    Try using the Custom Header Color Scheme instead of using CSS as that way you will have other configuration options.

    Thanks

    Hi Tahir,

    Thank you - I have tried that, but there is no option for transparent background for the secondary header. I really am at a loss here :)

    Is it just not possible to have a layout as per my initial screenshot (attached):?

    - Facebook logo to the right in main header

    - Secondary header text in white on transparent (text goes black when you scroll and background is white - just like the other links in the main nav)

    - No dividing lines anywhere

    Thanks,

    Vibeke
