Hello. I would like to customize an image size so that it looks good on mobile devices. For example, I have a PNG image that is 444 x 84, but I only want it to appear at 222 x 42 on screen. That way, it will still look sharp on mobile devices and retina screens. Can this be done in Salient?
Thank you for the reply. The link you sent seems to be for making changes to the standard WordPress image types. I am referring to managing single images so that they can be doubled in pixel size to look great on Retina devices and phones. For example, in the settings for Image Gallery, I am able to specify the exact pixel size of the images to be used. I would like to do the same for single images in various sizes and in various places throughout the site. I use WPbakery Page Builder in other themes, and they allow for custom image size in each Single Image element.
The single image element in the page builder does not allow for custom image sizes. The wpbakery page builder you see if modified to fit the theme and does not have the same standard options as the regular wpbakery page builder.
The sizes listed on the image size option are the only ones present. The custom one is for image size names that is large, medium and small.
If you need a specific size then you will need to add and define it as shown in the previously shared guide. Hope this clears things up.
Thank you again for the quick reply and your overall great support. Unfortunately, I do not think the guide will help my situation, as I don't want to replace an existing standard size. I'm actually very surprised you do not have this option in your theme. This has been vital to me when using other themes because clients want their images to look sharp and clear on retina devices and phones. Can you look into adding this into a future version? Thank you.
Thank you. I actually just found something. Within the Single Image element, if you scroll down, there's an option for Desktop Max Width. Here I am able to enter the exact pixel width I want to use on desktops. So, I can have an image that is 444 pixels wide max out at 222 on desktops. That solves the Retina issue on desktops and laptops.
For mobile, the only options under Mobile Max Width is a dropdown menu showing percentages. In order for this to work, 50% would need to be an option. But the only options are 110% through 200%. So, to fix this issue for future updates of the theme, you would just need to add in a 50% option.

See attached screenshot for how custom image sizing is an option in other themes using WPBakery Page Builder. Is this an option in Salient?
