I have tried all the things I can think of to edit the footer area on my page, I might be missing something but can't seem to find anywhere where I can change links or text in the footer

You can find and edit the footer under Global Sections.
This is the Architect one I think.

Before you can edit the content, you might need to enable the global sections in the WP Bakery settings.
It gives you a message if it cannot edit the section when you open the global section.
