    Could you give me a hint how to set up the Portfolio Gallery Slider?

    Using Salient 4.9 with Wordpress 4.0 there is no option for the Gallery Slider in the Project Configuration like on the Youtube video at 4:27.

    So what is needed to get the Portfolio Gallery Slider running?

    You simply have to use the Image Gallery Page element in the Visual Composer now. See screenshot: http://prntscr.com/559t63  .

    So a portfolio has your featured image or video in the left sidebar. In the original question it asked about replacing the featured image with a gallery, as shown in this video. I followed the response and can add an image gallery, but it is not clear how you might make this the "Featured image" in the sidebar - it always has to appear alongside or below the sidebar (as custom text).
