I have a request to add a third button to a slider using the salient theme. How would I go about adding a third button? Would I need to install a childtheme (if so where would I add this) or can I add it using the editor on the WordPress dashboard?

You can try adding a button shortcode in the caption area of Nectar Slider to add a button though some css styling would be needed.
