I create a page as home page since this is more a traditional site and not a blog.  I then selected that page "home" a static home page under the appearance.  Site loaded fine but the problem is with navigation.  All the main navigation to each page worked fine but the page anchors to jump directly to a spot on a different page did not work. Once i went to a sub page then all the navigation to any page worked.  just not on the home page.  

I have since put a redirect from www.virtualsports.net to www.virtualsports.net/home but this is having SEO consequences.

Any ideas why my page anchors would not work?
