Please check for plugin conflicts by deactivating the third-party plugins then reactivate it back one by one to see the one that causes issues.
Also, please ensure that are running the latest version of the theme. To get a list of Bug Fixes and new Feature add-ons in the Latest Theme updates view the change log here http://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html .
Please try and contact your hosting provider as the Server Security Settings are causing this. It has likely to do with folder or File Permissions.

Just bought the updated version of the theme and the general theme settings will not update.

Have deactivated all plugins besides the theme and I just got the latest version today.
It is still showing the issue.
