Apperance>Menu>Nav>Salient Menu Item Options>Menu items>scroll down to: Menu Item Text Coloring> change default to custom coloring>change Menu Item Title Color & Menu Item Title Color Hover.
You might need to change the animated underline to color change. Here's how to do it:
For main nav: salient>header navigation>animations effects>change Header Link Hover/Active Effect to color change>then go to>color scheme>Main Navigation>change hover state color
For animated underline: change through each nav menu or dropdown/megamenu.
Have you set up your mega menu as shown in our guide here http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/mega-menu/ to have the column menu animate like in the demo? This option can be achieved by using a mega menu.
You can also share your site URL so we can look into this for you.
Please help me be able to change header color when activated as seen in demo. please see attachment.

Yes I see the animated effects allows me to choose between either "Color change" or "Animated Underline",
Please see my attachment, I want to achieve both options as seen in the demo.
