Whenever I create a page called "Contact", the content drops down several hundred pixels into the middle of the page. If I change the name to something besides "Contact", for instance, "Contacts", the content on that same page displays as usual at the top of the page.
I've cleared my caches, permanently deleted all trashed pages, and updates my Salient theme to 5.0. Do you know how I can fix this? I was really hoping to have a contact page named "Contact".
It seems you still have template files from older releases of Salient in your setup - make sure you fully delete the theme before uploading the new version to avoid this :)
Thanks for your help! I have been using an FTP client to overwrite the theme files when making updates, is this not the correct process? Will I need to completely delete the theme every time I upgrade to a new release?

Hey Heather!
You can use ftp. To make sure no old files remain simply rename the existing folder to lets say "Salinet-old" and then upload the new updated folder.
