I am looking to customize the Salient portfolio template via the Salient Child Theme. Is there a list of templates that are Child theme compatible?

Or, what is the best way to make custom changes to the markup of the grid items on the Portfolio page.

Thank you for this. I do have another question for you. I currently have a page called "Works" using the default page template. Using the WPBakery Page Builder I've created a section where I'd like to add a query Portfolio element that will display all my portfolio post type posts.

The options that are available to me to display my post metadata do not have the option to show the categories that the post is attached to.

For example. I'd like the post grid item to display like so:

category, category
date
Title

Using the approach you shared with me to override Salient core templates. I do not see a template where the HTML is being output within the vc_template directory. Is there further documentation on how to accomplish this?

I'm not sure I've ever seen anything called "Post Loop Builder" Is that a vc_template? or are you saying that this is an available option in the front-end UI in WPBakery Page builder?

Another issue for me. I'd like to use a custom slug for my portfolio post type. This renders pagination and infinite scroll useless. Unless there is a workaround?

I see "Post Loop Builder" was introduced @ v16. I'm currently running v.15.0.8 where Post Grid. So I do not have access to this. 

With that said, in v15.0.8 what is the best way to add the project type (category) to the Portfolio page element grid item?
