Hello! I would like to edit the layout and look of each category just like I can edit the homepage.

Is it possible to edit these with WP Bakery?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Unfortunately, we currently don't have a way to edit the category template except through the options that are currently there. This would require extensive customizations since this will require customizing theme files which I'm afraid we are not able to offer due to support scope limitations.

However, we are partnered with a trusted provider of expert-level Salient customization. If you are interested in initiating a project, we recommend referring to our guide at the following link: https://themenectar.com/salient/customization/.

We appreciate your patience with this.

    Best Regards,

Could I just create new wp page and link each category to that page?

Or do I have to use wp categories?

    Hello again,

Thank you for getting back to us.

To clarify, do you want each category to have a different layout or do you want to change the current layout so that all the archive pages have the same layout?

We look forward to your feedback.

    Kind regards,

Yes, each page can have a different layout.

Would this cause any issues with indexing posts or any other issues? I know wordpress is meant to use the archive page system normally so let me know if this might cause any issues.

    Hi there,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Yes, we also use the archive page system to the blog so all the pages share the default archive page you set in Settings > Reading Settings. Creating different archive templates would require some extensive customization which I'm afraid we are not able to offer due to support scope limitations.

You can try creating different pages for your different archive pages, and use the post loop builder element to pull posts of a similar category, then get a redirection plugin to redirect that specific URL from the main page to your newly created page. This is not a method I would recommend, but you can explore this if it's an option for you.

Alternatively, we are partnered with a trusted provider of expert-level Salient customization. If you are interested in initiating a project, we recommend referring to our guide at the following link: https://themenectar.com/salient/customization/

    I hope that info helps.

    Kind regards,
