    Good day,

How can I add a custom field in post looper in salient theme? Because the option in there is limited to excerpt, date and etc. I put some custom field in my profile post type and I want it to show it in my post looper with the options in the wp bakery.

    Cheers

    Hi Raks,

    Thanks for writing to us.

Unfortunately, we currently don't have a way to add a custom field in this element.

This would require some extensive customization which I'm afraid we are not able to offer due to support scope limitations.

However, we are partnered with a trusted provider of expert-level Salient customization. If you are interested in initiating a project, we recommend referring to our guide at the following link: https://themenectar.com/salient/customization/

In the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out with further questions. We're happy to help.

    Hello Judith,

I manage to add new options in the element. Thanks to Andrew he gave me a lot of pointers. Anyways I thank you. One more thing I'm directly editing in the core maybe you can give me advice how can I add it in my child theme so I wont change the current core?

    Regards,

    Hi Raks,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

You can add all your changes to the functions.php file of the child theme. You can also follow these changes if you want to make changes in the visual composer elements https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/overriding-salient-wpbakery-element-template-files-through-a-child-theme/

We also have some dev docs here that can assist you https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/developer-docs/.

    I hope that helps.

    Cheers,
