    Hi..

    I am wondering..

My homepage nectar slider loads in slideshow the first 10 seconds of 2 videos that I also have as header in inner pages, also in nectar sliders, same file.

Would the website be faster in loading the homepage if I make 2 separate videos of 10 secs to load on the homepage slider instead of loading the original 10MB files, or, does it preload the whole video to then be faster oppening them in the inner pages?

New filws would pe approx. 2.5Mb in size.

    Thanks!

    Hey!

No i am afraid it wont make any difference in dividing the video. You can however try to speed up the page speed so the video loads faster . Use w3total cache and Better WP Minify Plugin for minification.

    Thanks

    Hi Tahir,

You mean use both or one of these?

I've tried to use W3total cache, but had problems with other websites. Are there any configuration instructions available I can use?

    Cheers

Yes, you can use W3total cache as is without minification for caching and BWP-minify for minification. bwp-minify is what we use and there\'s not much work you have to do. The only thing you\'ll need to do is remove font awesome from the minification

but all of the JS will work by default :) .

    Thanks

I've read that W3total cache is faster. Tried BWP-minify according to your instructions, but didnt help much.

Is there anything else I can do?

Are there any instructions available for W3total cache?

    Cheers

bwp is used only for the minifying aspect - you can still use W3 for the various caching options it has https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pdGAZps54I

    Hi guys,

Im having some issues with the homepage video stuttering, and the first slide runs video only at the first time, then on loop shows frozen.

What are the essential scripts to keep on header for this theme, considering the nectar slider running priority to load video faster?

    Screenshot attached.

    Please advise.

    Cheers

BWP Works as default so you dont need to change anything in it. As regards your question make sure modernizer is first.

    Thanks

    Hi Tahir! Thanks!

    A little faster now.

    Still regarding bwp minify.

    I have a few doubts:

1 - Does the theme use bloginfo()?

2 - How do I find out if my server is using NFS?

    .

3 - In the nectar slider, since it supports video, why dont you add the option to host the videos on youtube?

    Thanks

    Hey,

    1. No

    2. You could reach out to your hosting company to find out what your specific setup is

    3. There's an option to lightbox a youtube video but since the slider BG's are meant to be soundless it didn't make as much sense

    Cheers!

    Hi Guys,

I\'ve made everything I could in improving loading of the homepage, but i still have problems:

    1. First video on the slider only loads the first time, and stutters

    2. Video loads many times why?

    3. No matter what I do, i havent been able to reduce these times. What else can I do?

Please have a look and advise: http://www.webpagetest.org/result/150419_FF_KNN/

    Thank you

If optimization does not work, you might need a cdn service like maxcdn offeres.

    Hey,

could you kindly turn the loop option in your slider off and see if that changes?

    Hey again,

when viewing the videos loading in an actual browser you can see that they\'re simply being broken up into partial pieces rather than being loaded separate times

    Hi..

That\'s a very smart idea actually.

But when looking at the size of each download, I notice that the size of all item added is over the approximate 5Mb of each of the 2 files.

Ideas why this might be happening?

    Hey Again,

I guess you need a lazy load option. You can try Revolution Slider if you have a copy as it is compatible with Salient.
